Professor Laurie Brand named 2008 Carnegie Scholar

Laurie Brand, Director of the School of International Relations, has been named a 2008 Carnegie Scholar by the Carnegie Corporation of New York for her compelling ideas and commitment to enriching the quality of the public dialogue on Islam; her project is entitled “Islam v. Nationalism in Arab Post-Independence Narratives.”

The new Carnegie Scholars will be saluted in the New York Times op-ed page on April 8th.
